Pours a somewhat cloudy marigold with a thick head of dense white foam that reduces slowly. A soapy ring of residue clings to the glass.

Aroma

Aroma is faint but pleasant with notes of citrus and clove.

Flavor

Taste of cracker malt leads to sour fruits of pear and apple. Yeast and spice round out a dry, phenolic finish. Sweet honey from the underlying malt ties the palate together.

Mouthfeel

Mouthfeel has a medium body and moderate carbonation.

Overall

Three Little Pigs a nice representation of the style, but not one that measures up to the better Tripels found in Belgium. Regardless, it’s pretty good for an American-brewed Tripel and should you find yourself in Rockingham County, a visit to the brewery is certainly warranted.
