The Barista is an American Brown Ale brewed by Clown Shoes Beer, and for the purposes of this craft beer review, the ale was served in a mug from a bottle.

Appearance

Pours a dark russet with a cream colored cap of foam that stands firm. When eventually reduced, the head leaves a tremendous amount of lacing.

Aroma

The aroma is pleasant with a scent of coffee roast and sweet caramel. Even a hint of bacon.

Flavor

The palate follows the nose with balanced flavors of coffee and caramel. Finishes with a bitter blend of coffee, roast, and mild hops. Followed by a lactose sweetness.

Mouthfeel

Smooth mouthfeel has a medium body with less-than-moderate carbonation.

Overall

The use of coffee in The Barista is lovely and complementary. Otherwise, this is an excellent representation of the style.
