Appearance

More closely resembles a traditional Märzen rather than a Festbier having a color that’s orange-gold. A finger-thick cap of fizzy white foam caps the brew but disappears quickly. Ample effervescence is visible in the glass.

Aroma

Aroma is predominantly spicy with noble hops. Sweet malt becomes more prominent as the beer warms.

Overall

Other than appearing slightly darker than the norm, this is a superb representation of a Festbier. The Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest 2017 has well-balanced flavor and is wonderfully refreshing.

Recommended Pairings

Sierra Nevada recommends enjoying Oktoberfest with these food these pairings: meats such as German weisswurst sausage and roast pork. And cheeses like mild cheddar and butterkase. Or satisfy your sweet tooth with desserts such as apple strudel and whipped cream.
