$eeing Green is an American Double IPA brewed in the New England style by Civil Society Brewing Co. For the purposes of this craft beer review, the ale was served in an IPA glass from a can.
Appearance
The hazy DIPA pours an opaque yellow ochre and is topped by a tall stack of rocky off-white foam that shows excellent retention.
Aroma
The aroma is bursting with tropical fruit. You’ll smell it as soon as you pop open the can. The aromatics deliver a juicy scent of peach, pineapple, and mango.
Flavor
The palate begins with a taste of doughy bread that recedes to sweet and mellow note of pineapple. A juicy bite of grapefruit and orange followed by pine and some resin. Finishes with a taste of booze.
Mouthfeel
Its feel is smooth and creamy with a body that’s medium-full and moderate carbonation. Dry throughout and finishes with a mild warming sensation.
Overall
The aroma doesn’t last long but even during that short time, it is amazing. The flavors are fantastic. Unfortunately, the booze isn’t as well-concealed as many of the IPAs from Civil Society and its finish is a little hot. Otherwise, $eeing Green is a juicy must.
