PC Pils is an American Pale Lager brewed by Founders Brewing Co., and for the purposes of this craft beer review, the lager was served in a shaker pint glass from a can.

Appearance

The lager pours a canary yellow hue and is topped by an inch-thick cap of loose white froth that leaves behind some nice lace.

Aroma

Hops dominate the aroma with a scent that’s floral and citrusy.

Flavor

The palate is decidedly hoppy with a bite that’s floral, piney and packs lots of citrus.

Mouthfeel

Its feel is light and dry with ample carbonation.

Overall

PC Pils is a good brew but the name of the beer is misleading as it doesn’t really resemble a Pilsener. It has the citrus flavor of a typical American Pale but in a Pale Lager body. Hops dominate and malt has little presence. And so, if you’re looking for that classic pilsener taste, you’ll want another brew.

However, on the plus side, PC Pils has a really nice feel that’s just right for those warm summer days. It’s light, dry, effervescent, and so easy to drink.
