Oatmeal Raisin Cookie, an English Brown Ale by Cigar City Brewing

Oatmeal Raisin Cookie is an English Brown Ale brewed by Cigar City Brewing, and for the purposes of this craft beer review, the ale was served in a nonic pint glass from a 12 oz. can.

The ale pours a cola brown hue and is topped by a finger-thick pad of tan foam that offers modest retention. The head’s reduction doesn’t leave behind any lace or residue.

The aroma offers a pleasing scent of cinnamon, raisin, nut, and a touch of chocolate.

This malty palate blends vanilla, toffee, caramel, and nut atop bready oatmeal. Raisin and touch of chocolate also appear and its taste is mildly balanced with floral hops.

The feel has a medium body and moderate carbonation.

The Oatmeal Raisin Cookie is a well-crafted English Brown Ale and is a nice seasonal variant of the classic Cigar City Maduro Brown Ale.
