What You Need to Know
Named after a cigar wrapper, the Maduro Brown Ale is a well-rounded brew with notes of chocolate, toffee, and coffee roast. So how was it? Let’s get to the review.
Appearance
The ale pours a dark brown and is topped by a thick cap of dense tan-colored foam that shows modest retention. An aggressive pour yields the best results. A thin film of residue coats the sides of the glass.
Aroma
The aroma has a scent of chocolate, toffee, nut, and a hint of floral hops.
Flavor
The palate is led by brown bread and toffee that’s mixed with nut and sweet notes of chocolate and brown sugar. Its finish is mildly bitter with a suggestion of floral hops and coffee.

Flaked oats lend to a silky smooth feel with a medium body and less-than-moderate carbonation. The finish is slightly dry.
Overall
The feel of this Brown Ale is sublime. Its aroma is enticing and the palate has just enough complexity to make the session compelling and interesting. The Maduro Brown Ale is a thoroughly enjoyable brew.
