I Want It Now! is a German-style Gose brewed by Funky Buddha Brewery, and for the purposes of this craft beer review, the ale was served in a snifter from a bottle.

Appearance

The Gose pours an opaque golden yellow and is topped by a finger thick cap of loose white froth that vanishes almost instantaneously. The reduction doesn’t leave behind any lace or residue.

Aroma

The aroma consists of some musty yeast, tropical fruit, and sourdough bread.

Flavor

The palate begins with a taste of wheat bread that transitions to a puckering twist of passion fruit and lemon. The tart flavors are immediately followed by sweet mango and a dash of sea salt.

Mouthfeel

Its feel is relatively smooth with a medium body and nearly high carbonation. It has a modest salinity and acidity.

Overall

The head retention is quite poor but that’s nitpicking. Its aroma is fine and its feel is in line with the style expectations. But it’s the palate that really excels. The blend of tart and sweet is perfect. And being a little salty, this is a brew you can’t help but keep tilting back. Sure, this brew doesn’t meet Germany’s strict purity laws, but I Want It Now! is definitely a Gose you’ll want to keep drinking.
