Appropriate for the style, the aroma is expectedly tart with a scent of raspberry, and backed by musty wheat.
The palate follows the nose with a mouth puckering tang of raspberry supported softly by doughy, wheat bread. Finishes with a sour candy-like raspberry twang and a squeeze of lemon juice.
Crisp mouthfeel is medium-light in body and its effervescence comes alive on the tongue.
The raspberry-flavored Hallo Ich Bin Berliner Weisse is a nice take on the style. Its low ABV makes this a sessionable brew; one that’s easy to drink and perfect for those hot summer days. The Danes at Mikkeller got this one right.
