Coastline Lager is an American Pale Lager brewed by Due South Brewing Co., and for the purposes of this craft beer review, the lager was served in a pilsner glass from a 16 oz. can.
Appearance
The lager pours a relatively clear pale gold and is topped by a thick, sturdy cap of puffy white foam. The head shows fine retention and leaves a spittle of residue on the sides. A continuous stream of bubbles rises in the glass.
Aroma
The aroma blends grassy hops, yeast, and corn.
Flavor
The palate begins neutral with malty bread and then strikes very subtle notes of lemon citrus and spicy hops. The finish is mellow with semisweet notes of corn and honey.
Mouthfeel
Its body is smooth and crisp with a light body and a shade over moderate carbonation.
Overall
The Coastline Lager presents well. Its palate is clean, light, refreshing, easy to drink. Simple but enjoyable. A very low ABV makes this beer quite sessionable. A very nice brew to have around for the non-craft beer drinkers. And about as much as one can expect from the style.
