Clementine is a Belgian-style Witbier brewed by Clown Shoes Beer, and for the purposes of this craft beer review, the ale was served in a tulip glass from a bottle.
Appearance
The Wit pours a cloudy marigold and is topped by a half-inch thick cap of white foam. The head persists briefly and leaves behind patches of sticky residue.
Aroma
The aroma is quite wonderful with a scent of orange peel and coriander.
Flavor
The palate follows the nose but those flavors are somewhat muted. A biting finish of floral hops and pepper offers more zing. An undercurrent of wheat binds it together.
Mouthfeel
Mouthfeel is light but not quite as effervescent as expected. Finishes dryly.
Overall
Clementine is a refreshing brew but not one that quite measures up to the better witbiers.
