Citrafied is an American Pale Ale brewed by Due South Brewing Co., and for the purposes of this craft beer review, the ale was served in tulip pint glass from a can.

Appearance

The pale pours a hazy marigold and is topped by a thick white cap of foam that leaves a spittle of lace as it withdraws.

Aroma

The aroma is fragrant with a pleasant scent of orange rind.

Flavor

A hop-forward palate opens with a heavy dose of Citra hops. Flavors of grapefruit and lemon nearly run amok before the taste profile balances sweetly to a barley malt base.

Mouthfeel

Mouthfeel features a crisp, medium body with moderate carbonation.

Overall

Citrafied could use more malt to balance a hop-heavy palate that’s borderline Session IPA. Regardless, hopheads will likely appreciate a brew that offers IBUs aplenty at a relatively low 5.1% ABV.

About this Beer

Citrafied was added to the core selection of beers by Due South in November 2016.
