Cisk Strong Premium Lager is a Strong Lager brewed by Simonds Farsons Cisk Plc., and for the purposes of this craft beer review, the lager was served in a tumbler from a bottle.
Appearance
The lager pours a crystal-clear marigold and is topped by a finger-thick cap of dense, off-white foam that disappears almost immediately.
Aroma
Its aroma is sugary sweet with a scent of corn.
Flavor
The palate begins with a taste of doughy bread. A small amount of peppery and herbal greet a finish that’s super sweet with a taste of corn syrup.
Mouthfeel
Its feel is smooth with a medium-light body and moderate carbonation. Finishes dryly from the high alcohol but its sweetness is cloying.
Overall
The Cisk Strong Premium Lager has too thin of a feel and its palate is far too sweet. Oh so boozy, this lager was clearly brewed with one purpose in mind. And so unless your goal is to get drunk, you’re better off skipping this brew.
Name Change
The Cisk Strong Premium Lager was formerly labeled as the Cisk XS Extra Lager.
