Belleview Biltmore Blueberry Vanilla Wheat is an American Wheat Ale brewed by Two Henrys Brewing Co., and for the purposes of this craft beer review, was served in a wheat beer glass from a can.
Appearanace
Pours a crystal-clear gold showing effervescence from a continuous rising stream of bubbles. The ale is capped by an inch-thick head of fizzy, white froth that unfortunately disappears rapidly. A few droplets of residue cling to the glass.
Aroma
Aroma is soft but pleasant, yielding a scent of blueberries, vanilla, and grain.
Flavor
Palate follows the nose beginning with flavor of blueberries atop a clean, wheat base. Mild bitterness follows from a complementary use of floral hops. Finishes sweetly with a taste of vanilla that sticks to the back of the throat.
Mouthfeel
Mouthfeel is relatively smooth with a medium body and medium carbonation. It might benefit from a little more carbonation and a little less malt.
Overall
The Belleview Biltmore’s use of blueberry and vanilla isn’t overpowering and allows this wheat ale to still be very much a beer. Slight knock on the appearance, but otherwise, this is a light, refreshing, and easy to drink beer. If you don’t mind a little fruit in your beer, this one is recommended.
