Back in Black is an American Black Ale brewed by 21st Amendment Brewery, and for the purposes of this craft beer review, the ale was served in a tulip pint glass from a 12 oz. can.

Appearance

The dark malt gives the brew its mahogany color. A finger-thick head of tan foam lingers briefly and leaves but a spittle of residue on the glass.

Aroma

The aroma is floral with a slight sweetness of caramel.

Flavor

A hop-forward palate is backed subtly by roasted malt and finishes semisweet with dark chocolate.

Mouthfeel

The feel has a medium body with moderate carbonation.

Overall

The Back in Black is an enjoyable brew and one that steadily improves as the beer warms when the dark malt becomes more pronounced.
