What You Need to Know
A quartet of hops power this New Englander while a pair of malts lend the balance. So how was it? Let’s get to the review.
The ale pours a mostly-opaque deep golden hue and is topped by an inch-thick cap of soapy off-white foam that shows good retention. The head’s reduction leaves behind a smattering of residue on the glass.
The aroma is pungent with pine and resin and balanced with a whiff of tropical fruit.
Bready wheat malt leads the way and is followed by a bite of hoppy resin and citrus. As the beer loses its chill, pine becomes more prominent. The tasting then mellows out with a ripe blend of stone fruits.
The malty backbone gives the medium body a relatively smooth feel with moderate carbonation. The bitterness is expectedly restrained while the finish is somewhat dry and mildly acidic.
The IPA presents well enough and the dank aroma is enticing. The feel is spot on and the palate delivers a nicely hopped flavors that’s well balanced. Overall, the Accumulated Knowledge is a solid New England-style IPA.
