Once prominent, a blight destroyed almost 98% of the American chestnut trees between 1904-1906 (Wikipedia). In Tennessee, it was called the “King of the Forest.” Today, some of the largest surviving American chestnut trees are actually in Jackson County, Tennessee.

These days, the American Chestnut Foundation is working hard to repopulate the trees across the country. What better way to honor the history of the chestnut than through beer?!


Braised or smoked meats, big pots of chili, along with generous slices of pumpkin pie.


This beer will be available Wednesday, Aug 14th, after 11 AM at the taproom. Available on draft, and to-go in crowlers, growlers, 6-pack bottles and cases. Limited supplies will be available at stores and restaurants in the Nashville-area, Knoxville-area and Chattanooga over the next few weeks.
