The Cigar City Brewing Taproom will be open to the public on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 before the Tampa Bay Lightning’s game against the Vancouver Canucks. Cigar City Brewing is the Official Craft Beer Partner of the Lightning and AMALIE Arena and in addition to being served in the new Taproom, Cigar City beers Jai Alai, Guayabera, and Florida Cracker are available for sale throughout AMALIE Arena, as well as on tap at the Cigar City Brewing club level bar located at section 211/212. The Taproom will also pour specialty and seasonal beers.
“We are excited to unveil the Cigar City Brewing Taproom,” said Lightning Chief Executive Officer Steve Griggs in making the announcement today. “Cigar City Brewing, its products and the new Taproom fit perfectly into our food and beverage vision, providing the best in brands and variety to our fans and guests at AMALIE Arena,” Griggs continued. “We are thankful for the partnership and the opportunity to pour a great locally based, emerging national brand for our guests every day. We believe The Cigar City Brewing Taproom will become a fixture on the downtown eating and drinking scene for years to come.”
The Cigar City Brewing Taproom’s location is 375 Channelside Drive, under the Pam Iorio Parking Garage adjacent to the west plaza at AMALIE Arena. The Taproom represents a new food and beverage option for arena guests and will be open on both event and select non-event days. Extending onto the plaza, the Cigar City Brewing Taproom will create an authentic Tampa setting, enhancing the pre and post-event experience for AMALIE Arena guests and Lightning fans.

Additionally, the Hunahpu’s Beer Festival, one of the premier craft beer events in the United States, will be moving to AMALIE Arena on March 13th, 2020. The festival will mark the 11th anniversary of the event in Tampa, Florida, and the first at AMALIE Arena. The festival is a one-day celebration of Cigar City Brewing’s Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout, which is only released once a year.
