Outside in the patio area of the Saugatuck Brewing Co. location in Douglas, Michigan
Saugatuck Brewing Co.

We are dedicated to the entire experience of craft; from our creative food menu to our unique beers. The adventure started with creating a perfect beer, and we have kept that focus since our opening in 2005 with 31 combined rotating taps plus hard cider and a variety of wines. The Saugatuck Brewing Company has a large family friendly pub, outside patio plus a secondary tap room dubbed “The Barrel Room” for multiple different dining and drinking experiences in one building. We operate on a 45 barrel Brew System with 960 barrels of Fermentation Space and the ability to age over 400 wood barrels at one time.
Culture
As we continue to spread our wings and grow our distribution, we never forget where we came from. Saugatuck/Douglas, MI is our home and it has made us what we are today. We are proud to be a part of such a beautiful, unique and exciting area. Saugatuck/Douglas has been nationally recognized as one of the “Best Beach Getaways” with some of the cleanest and most breath-taking beaches on Lake Michigan.
History
SBC first opened it’s doors on June 23, 2005 as a small, intimate, start up brewery on Enterprise Drive, just across the street from our current location, utilizing only a small 3.5 barrel Brew System which is now used for our “Brew On Premise” program. We quickly outgrew the small space and decided to move into a larger location. In 2008, we moved the entire operation to the 25,000 square foot facility we are currently in. The warehouse was once used as a stamping factory and was completely renovated to feature our Pub and Brew House. We utilized a 10 barrel Brew System from 2008 to 2013, when we installed and began operating on our current 45 barrel system. Along the way, we entered 11 states of distribution: Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida, Missouri and Nebraska; along with entering distribution in 7 foreign countries: United Kingdom, Western Canada, Germany, Trinidad & Tobago, Ukraine, China and South Korea.

To proudly display that independent spirit, the Brewers Association created a symbol to unify U.S. craft breweries and those who want to support them. This certified mark gives beer lovers an easy way to identify independent craft beer.
